Fresh Food Share allows for home gardeners to donate fresh produce so that we can provide for those who are experiencing food insecurity.
Help us bring nutritious meals to people experiencing homelessness as well as low income families. Some of our culinary staff were previously homeless and we would like to compensate them for preparing the meals.
Help drive food hunger out of Canada by volunteering your culinary expertise.
We use rescued food to create nourishing and delicious meals in community kitchens for those in need.
In Canada 31 billion dollars worth of food is wasted every year. Apart from presenting both an economic and moral dilemma, food waste contributes to an environmental problem because when food decomposes in landfills it releases methane, a greenhouse gas that is 27 times more potent than carbon dioxide.
Our goal is to fight food waste by using unusable food that would otherwise be thrown out to end Canadian food insecurity.
Whether you are a food donor, volunteer chef or would like to help us rescue food, your commitment to helping feed the hungry while eliminating food waste will have a valuable impact on our shared community.
