About Happy Pig: We became certified organic in 2008 and strive to produce high quality meats for our customers while providing the best possible lives for the animals that we raise. All of our animals have plenty of space to roam, root, peck and scratch, along with fresh clean water and feed grains milled weekly on farm one bucket at at time! We welcome farm visits. Our birds all arrive on the farm as day old chicks and spend between three to four weeks in the brooder where they can stay warm and comfy until they develop their feathers. Once they have their feathers it's out to the mobile coop where they are encouraged to eat and spend time outside on the pasture within a protective electric fence boundary. They are very active basically up from dawn til dusk scratching and pecking and running into the hut every time a bird of prey flies over!
